13th December 2015 - Clumber Spaniels: what a lovely end to the Championship Show yeaer as Maeve (Mischievous Maeve With Maursett) wins Puppy Bitch and then another Best Puppy in Breed award at the LKA Championship Show (judged by breed specialist Dee Carter-Hunt).  Here's wishing all our friends a Happy Christmas and a successful New Year from the Maursett Mob.

6th December 2015 - Clumber Spaniels & English Setters: another fabulous day out, as we took our chances with the flooding in Cumbria to go to Penrith & District Canine Society's Open Show.  Maeve (Mischievous Maeve With Maursett) won AVNSC Graduate and Fathom (Mariglen Fathom for Maursett) won AVNSC Open.  Maeve then won Best AVNSC, before going Adult Gundog Group 4 (at just 10 months) and Gundog Puppy Group 2 under judge Julie Wiliams.  Big thank you to the committee and officials who made the show such an enjoyable day out under very difficult circumstances.  Also to the judges who must have experienced quite a traumatic journey through the floods.

14th November 2015 - Clumber Spaniels: what a day at the Gundog Breeds Association of Scotland Championship Show as Maeve (Mischievous Maeve With Maursett) took the Best Puppy in Breed award under judge Dave Boden.  The day was made even more special as she took her place in the puppy group being judged by Gordon Talbot, who thrilled us by awarding Maeve the Group 4. Wow! Quite a day.

Thank you to the judges who have thought so highly of Maeve who remains, in spite of it all, very mischievous!
18th October 2015 - Clumber Spaniels: over the Pennines this time to Goyt Valley Gundog Club's Open Show, where  Maeve (Mischievous Maeve With Maursett) won Junior Clumber Spaniel, Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed.  She then went on to be shortlisted down to the last six for Best in Show and was then awarded Best Puppy in Show under judge Caroline Walkling.  What a fab October it has been for the Maursett Mob!

17th October 2015 - Grantham & District Canine Society Open Show.  English Setters: Fathom (Mariglen Fathom For Maursett) won AV NSC Junior and then Best AV NSC, judged by Steve Rose.  Meanwhile, Maeve (Mischievous Maeve With Maursett) won the AV NSC Puppy class and then went on to take Gundog Puppy Group 4, also under Steve Rose.

14th October 2015 - Gundog Society of Wales Championship Show. Clumber Spaniels:  Maeve (Mischievous Maeve With Maursett) won Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed judged by Ralph Dunne.  She then took a second in a big, quality Minor Puppy Bitch Stakes class judged by Tom Graham.

4th October 2015 - Clumber Spaniels: A good day out at the Clumber Spaniel Club Championship Show, where The Stig (Jubilwell Riff Raff for Maursett) won Veteran Dog, whilst Maeve (Mischievous Maeve With Maursett) won Minor Puppy Bitch, Puppy Bitch.  She was then awarded Best Puppy in Show by judge Hilda Monaghan.  Wow!  What a weekend and a lovely atmosphere at the show (and the sun shone as well).

2nd October 2015 - Driffield Championship Show - Clumber Spaniels:  another enjoyable day out as Maeve (Mischievous Maeve With Maursett) wins Minor Puppy Bitch.  She then successfully challenged and was awarded the Best Puppy in Breed award by breed specialist judge David Howarth. Many thanks to Eileen Sutherland (Eilandon) for the super photograph:

15th August 2015 - Clumber Spaniels: Dumfries & Galloway Canine Society.  Maeve (Mischievous Maeve With Maursett) won AV Gundog Puppy and Puppy Group 3 under gundog judge David Alcorn.  What a lovely show with free tea, coffee and refreshments and a very friendly atmosphere.

9th August 2015 - Clumber Spaniels: York Canine saw Maeve (Mischievous Maeve With Maursett) awarded Best Puppy for her second outing, making it two in a row.  She went on to get Puppy Group 3 at the same show.

25th July 2015 - Clumber Spaniels: Leeds Championship Show - our new baby, Mischievous Maeve With Maursett (Maeve) won the Best Puppy award at her very first outing, but equally satisfying for us was watching judge David Shields give the Open Class and then the dog CC - his all important third - to Eileen and Gordon Sutherland's Maursett Murtagh at Eilandon (better known as Clyde).  July has been a great month for Clyde and, of course, Eileen and Gordon.  English Setters: meanwhile, over in the English Setter ring we were pleased to get 2nd in a strong junior class with Fathom (Marigilen Fathom for Maursett) from judge Chris Moorhouse.  All in all, a very satisfying day out at Harewood House.

11th July 2015 - Clumber Spaniels: East of England Championship Show - many congratulations indeed to Gordon and Eileen Sutherland, who took the Dog CC and Best of Breed with Maursett Murtagh at Eilandon (better known as Clyde) under breed specialist judge Jane Howarth.  We were not showing Clumbers today, but it was great to be able to watch Clyde take this 2nd CC. So very pleased for Gordon and Eileen.

24th May 2015 - Clumber Spaniels: Stig (Jubilwell Riff Raff for Maursett) won Best Veteran in Show at North Riding Gundog Club Open Show, under judge Mr Colin Woodward.  English Setters: earlier in the day, Fathom (Mariglen Fathom for Maursett) won the English Setter Junior class at the same show.  An enjoyable day out.

12th February 2015 - Clumber Spaniels: today we said a very sad farewell to Crumble (Sh Ch Maursett Mildraed) in her 14th year.  We will all miss her so much.  Run free Crumble.

8th February 2015 - English Setters: Fathom (Mariglen Fathom for Maursett) carries on with her fabulous debut in the show ring, this time taking Best Puppy & Best of Breed at Jarrow & Hebburn Canine Society's Open Show (judged by Carole Wood).  Over in the Stakes rings, Terry Pearson was taking centre stage and we were delighted when he awarded her 1st place in the AV Puppy Stakes, from a good sized entry.  Not a bad weekend's work for Fathom, who can now return to her lapdog status at home until the next show.

7th February 2015 - English Setters: Fathom (Mariglen Fathom for Maursett) continues to blossom, this time taking the Best Puppy in Breed and then winning the Best Any Variety Members Puppy Stakes at Darlington & District Canine Society.  A enjoyable day out for us all.

18th January 2015 - Manchester Championship Show - Clumber Spaniels: mission accomplished, part 2, as Noggin (Maursett Mindsanoggin) qualifies for Crufts.  English Setters: meanwhile, what a start for the Maursett New Year in English Setters: Fathom (Mariglen Fathom for Maursett) started the day being shortlisted by top all-rounder Judge Frank Kane in the Dog World Puppy Lincoln bitch stakes class.

Then over to the breed ring, where Jane Howarth was our breed judge.  There was a good entry of eight in the Minor Puppy Bitch class which Fathom won much to our delight; she then consolidated her wins by successfully challenging the Puppy Bitch winner (from an equally good entry of twelve) to win the Best Puppy Bitch award.
